After their first encounter with Korean barbecue, Grace and Leo Xia were hooked. From the vibrant energy to the bold flavors and quality ingredients, they loved it all and immediately dreamt of recreating the experience in Houston. After opening two locations of their hip dim sum restaurant, Duck N Bao, the couple brought their dream to life at Hongdae 33, an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue spot ideally situated in Chinatown’s Dun Huang Plaza.
Modeled in the style of a traditional KBBQ restaurant, guests select marinated meats, seafood and vegetables to cook on tabletop grills, which are served alongside a variety of housemade banchan (Korean side dishes), noodles, stews, Korean pancakes and rice.
Open late daily, the restaurant’s full bar focuses on Korean spirits, including soju and makgeolli (rice wine), which are highlighted in signature cocktails and popular soju bomb shots.
